1. Who we are
Strive4Purpose ("we," "us," "our") is a South Dakota nonprofit corporation operating the website strive4purpose.org. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Strive4Purpose is the data controller for personal data collected through this site.
Contact: info@strive4purpose.org.
2. What data we collect
We try to collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you use the site:
- Booking a call: if you use the "Book a discovery call" widget, you provide your name, email, and scheduling details directly to our scheduling provider, Cal.com. We receive the booking details you submit, and — if this is your first time booking — your name and email are also added to our CRM (Zoho CRM) and, once you confirm, our client mailing list (Zoho Campaigns) so we can follow up and send a brief intake survey ahead of your session.
- Donating: if you donate, your payment is handled entirely by PayPal (including the Venmo payment option within PayPal). We do not receive or store your card, bank, or Venmo account details — PayPal shares only your name, email, and donation amount with us for receipting purposes.
- Newsletter: if you submit your email to "The Huddle" newsletter signup, we collect that email address via our email service provider, Zoho Campaigns, to send you updates.
- Technical data: our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability purposes, as is standard for any web server.
Analytics: if you accept cookies via the consent banner, we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and which pages lead to a booking or donation. Google Analytics is not loaded, and no analytics cookie is set, if you reject or haven't yet made a choice. We do not run any advertising or tracking-pixel scripts.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use browser local storage (not a traditional cookie) solely to remember your cookie-consent choice. This is strictly necessary and does not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. The donation widget and Google Analytics load automatically only if you accepted cookies via the consent banner; the booking widget waits until you actively click to open it regardless of your cookie choice. These may set their own cookies once loaded — see our Cookie Policy for detail.
4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR, EU/EEA/UK visitors)
- Booking a call: performance of a contract / steps taken at your request prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), including adding your details to our CRM to manage that relationship.
- Donating: performance of a contract with PayPal as our payment processor, and our legitimate interest in receipting and thanking donors (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Newsletter (including the post-booking intake survey invitation): your consent, given when you submit the signup form or confirm the opt-in email (Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
5. Third parties we share data with
- Cal.com, Inc. — scheduling widget.
- Zoho Corporation (Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns) — client relationship management and email delivery, including the newsletter and the post-booking intake survey invitation.
- PayPal, Inc. — donation processing, including the Venmo payment option.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics) — site traffic and conversion analytics, only if you accept cookies.
These providers may process data outside the EU/EEA (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards each provider makes available, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for details on the specific safeguards in place.
6. Your rights
If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@strive4purpose.org. Residents of other jurisdictions (e.g. California) may have similar rights under local law; contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
7. Data retention
We keep booking and donation records for as long as needed for accounting, tax-receipting, and legal compliance purposes for as long as the law requires, and newsletter emails until you unsubscribe.
8. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
